On the CBR, the DLC connector under the seat provides access to a lot of engine data, including RPM, temp, FI data, wheel speed, and a few other things. Yeah I've seen those for cars via OBD-2, but I've never seen anything just like it for motorcycles. ( look up the full procedure in the manual to learn what each blinking pattern means). Turn the ignition key, and watch the blinking FI light like morse code to reveal the fault codes. I can maybe find the part number when I get home, as I've looked into getting one before and might still have it written down somewhere.īut the cheap way to read PGM-FI fault codes on a CBR is simply to jump the green/brown wires of the DLC connector beneath your seat using a small piece of wire. It's pricey ( like a few thousand bucks), and can only be purchased directly through Honda OEM service channels, but might be worth it for some people. The DLC scan tool will read any PGM-FI fault codes, and display the information on a digital readout like many of the standard automotive OBD-2 scanners.
